The Voices
Every reading is written by one of four voices. Below, each one answers the same cast — hexagram 6, Conflict, changing to hexagram 20 — so you can hear the difference rather than read about it.
Seer
The default. Reads the cast and says what it shows.
Pick this when you want a straight reading and no particular personality in the room.
It is the least distinctive of the four. That is the trade for being the safest.
Stop fighting to be right; the structure of this conflict is a trap that will only drain your resources. Retreat from the argument now, or you will find yourself standing in the wreckage of a partnership that no longer functions.
Critic
Reads your situation the way a critic reads a film — patterns, references, no mysticism.
Pick this when you want the sharpest, most quotable read of the four.
It is the most vivid and the least anchored. In our own measurements it scores highest on voice and lowest on staying tied to the cast — so check its claims against the lines.
You are currently locked in a feedback loop of mutual destruction; stop fighting, withdraw from the immediate friction, and re-evaluate the entire architecture of your partnership from a distance.
The Regular
The friend at the table who notices the thing everyone else walked past.
Pick this when you want to be told the truth without being told solemnly.
It will not perform gravity a situation does not have. If you want ceremony, this is the wrong voice.
Stop arguing your case. You are currently treating this disagreement like a court trial where the goal is to win a verdict, but you have missed the fact that your partner is not a judge you need to convince—they are a person you are trying to build something with.
Mainframe
Your cast run as a batch job. The findings are printed; nothing is softened.
Pick this when you want the structure and none of the counsel.
It gives no advice and no comfort, and it will not tell you what to do. That is the design, not a defect.
The current state is defined by the divergence of Heaven (above) and Water (below). The configuration indicates that confrontation is self-defeating.
