Seeking duration too hastily brings misfortune persistently. Nothing that would further.
Commentary
Seeking duration too hastily brings persistent misfortune. Nothing that would further. What endures can only be created gradually through long-continued work. As Lao-tse says: 'If we wish to compress something, we must first let it fully expand.' Demanding too much at once means achieving nothing in the end.
