Classical Chinese Text

困于葛藟

Wilhelm Translation

He is oppressed by creeping vines. He moves uncertainly and says, 'Movement brings remorse.' If one feels remorse over this and makes a start, Good fortune comes.

Commentary

Oppressed by creeping vines, moving uncertainly. You say 'movement brings remorse'—but if you feel remorse over this hesitation and make a start, good fortune comes. These bonds are easily broken; grasp the situation and decide.
