The abyss is not filled to overflowing, It is filled only to the rim. No blame.
Commentary
The abyss fills to the rim but not beyond. The way out is the line of least resistance—water doesn't rise higher than necessary. Great labors cannot happen now; just get out of the danger.
When This Line Changes
If Line 5 changes, Hexagram 29 Kan (The Deep) transforms into Hexagram 7 Shi (The Army).
